Unified Champion

A group of children are in a room, possibly a classroom or gym.

What it is:

Unified Champion Schools create welcoming, inclusive school communities where students with and without disabilities learn, play, and lead together. Grounded in the values of Special Olympics, the program promotes social inclusion through intentionally planned activities that drive school‑wide culture change in K–12 schools and on college campuses. Using sports as the foundation, the three‑component model—Unified Sports, Inclusive Youth Leadership, and Whole School Engagement—equips students and staff with the tools to build classrooms and school environments rooted in acceptance, belonging, and respect for all.
